🌸 3 unwaxed lemons, roughly chopped
🌸 200g (7oz) fresh or frozen raspberries, plus extra to garnish
🌸 125g caster sugar
🌸 sparkling wine or for non-alcoholic sparkling water, to serve
Put the lemons, raspberries and sugar in a blender with 400ml (14fl oz) water.
Blitz until finely chopped, then push through a sieve, pressing hard to squeeze as much liquid through as possible.
Serve 1 part raspberry lemonade diluted with 2 parts sparkling wine or water, plenty of ice and a few extra raspberries to garnish.
by Isa Mazzei
From the screenwriter of Netflix’s surreal horror flick Cam comes this candid, juicy memoir of Isa Mazzei’s experience working in the online sex industry. As her seductive alter ego “Una,” the author staged erotic digital performances to earn money and explore her own sexual longings. Camgirl culminates with revelations about childhood trauma and the challenges of sustaining a bifurcated identity. The book offers insights into the formidable physical and emotional labor demanded of adult entertainers, as well as the ways that power and desire are intertwined for young women – all recounted in Mazzei’s raw, surprisingly comedic voice.
by Luis Borges.
I read this in college, and it opened my eyes to the reality of literature, which until then I didn’t know existed. I was a late bloomer when it comes to reading, under the illusion that fiction was just a bunch of stories. I was most influenced by the essays in the book, and I ended up being attracted to the same sort of writers as Borges, mostly Anglo-American writers of 1820-1920.
